Understanding Correlation

What is Correlation?

Correlation measures how two assets move in relation to each other. A correlation of +1 means they move perfectly together, -1 means they move in opposite directions, and 0 means no relationship.

Why It Matters

Understanding correlation helps with portfolio diversification. Assets with low or negative correlation can reduce overall portfolio risk, while highly correlated assets may amplify gains (and losses).

Note: Past correlation doesn't guarantee future correlation. Crypto markets are highly volatile and correlations can change rapidly, especially during market stress events.
